Sixteen years ago we lost the man who danced in the rain and made us smile. Gene Kelly passed away Feb 2, 1996.  

Dance instructor and good friend Joey Commentucci is still out of action due to back complications. He has had a series of  injections and will undergo back surgery February 20th. We wish him a speedy recovery. 

Julianne Hough continues to ride the wave of dance success as she will be appearing in the upcoming motion picture “Rock Of Ages” starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Directed by Adam Shankman, a guest judge on “So You Think You Can Dance”, Julianne starred this past summer in the remake of ‘Footloose’. 

It’s happening, now, Freedom Swing Dance Challenge January 27th to the 29th. Come out and support the first Swing weekend dance event in the Philly area.  Hosted by Rob & Sheila, at the Ramada Philadelphia Airport. After winning on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, Julianne Hough has directed her attention on singing and acting. Bonnie Diaz was the first World Champion for the United States (Mambo), US Ten Dance Representative not once but three times, the eleven times undefeated Basic Latin Champion, as well as one of the original organizers of the USDC Dance Congress. She now champions the organization ‘Ballroom Barks’, helping to find homes for abandoned dogs.

What do David Nyce, Kim Oliver, Juan Hernandez, Donna Chaudoir, Steven Mitchell, Lisa Rivera and Joyce Szili have in common? They all represented Virginia on the television show “Dance Fever”….winning local contests making them eligible to compete on the nationally syndicated television show. 

Proprietor of “Dance With Me” dance studio’s, Maks Chmerkovskiy, now has three dance studios located in NYC, Long Island and NJ.  Known as the bad boy on “Dancing With The Stars”, Maks has announced a new location coming to Los Angelos California later this year.

Keeping busy doesn’t’ begin to express the schedule for  dance champion Sergia Louise Anderson. Hostess of the TV show SoCal Now, she appeared on “The Guiding Light” , ABC television’s “The Forgotten” and numerous commercials including Doritos, Cascade and has been appearing in ‘Girl Next Door’ – a pole dance soiree, in Hollywood California. She is also the co owner of the Vertitude Dance Studio in CA.   

The ‘American Dance Machine’ was a archive of Broadway theater dances that ran in the late 70’s with 199 performances.
The show featured the works of great dance "Teams" including The Szony's and Augie & Margo. The productions appeared in the USA, Japan & Italy. Francois Szony himself often performed as did Peter Maxwell & Vicki Regan - former Ballroom World Champion and US Champion, respectively.
